I Like My Blueberries WILD!

Bryan and I recently took a trip to the mountains to pick blueberries. Mid to late August is prime time picking for these wild blueberries and hundreds (or thousands?) of people come from miles around to partake in picking them.

We spent about four hours picking.  Then we drove home and spent another four hours cleaning (while leisurely watching tv) and ended up with this:


This is my new favorite breakfast:

Greek Gods Honey yogurt with wild blueberries topped with crushed Honey Nut Cherrios

We ended up with about 3 gallons of blueberries; most of which are now frozen in my freezer.  If you have any delicious blueberry recipes, send them my way!

  5. Wow, you guys are looking really great in those 'picking' pictures! Like models in a catalog or something! I love blueberries in smoothies with banana, and also in MUFFINS and pancakes, of course.

  7. I like my strawberries just a little on the trashy side and I definitely love my blueberries wild! I am totally jealous of your huge stash and 3 seconds away from creating your amazing breakfast recipe. Yum!!!

  10. Looks like a beautiful hike on a beautiful day. I just checked out the task lamps in your bedroom. I LOVE THEM. Unfortunately, cause I'm in Ausralia, we don't have too many cool discount homeware stores like Marshalls etc - actually, we pretty much only have Target and K-mart :-(
    Oh well, I'll keep on looking.

  12. YUM! I love picking blueberries AND hiking. Looks like it was a fabulous day. My favorite combo is yogurt, blueberries, and granola. Yum again.

  13. Love blueberrys, love cobbler, love em with ice cream, love hiking, I even love picking berries...for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes I make my kids do most of the picking.

  15. Thanks! We've got fluorescent bulbs in the lamps so they shouldn't be too much of a hazard. And I could really go for some blueberry cheesecake right now, that sounds delicious!
