Our Howl-O-Ween

We managed to not eat all of our candy before the first trick-or-treaters arrived.  Mostly because I purposely did not buy chocolate.  But we need to double this amount at least for next year.  We ran out after one hour (we gave two pieces per kid) and had to close our gate and turn off our light just as a large group of kids were walking towards our house.  Talk about feeling bad!

We finished carving our pumpkins just in the nick of time.  We were lighting the candles when the first kid walked up our drive.  Whew!

How long is it acceptable to have jack-o-lanterns on your front porch after Halloween?  It just doesn't seem right to only have them lit up for one night then discarded.

After seeing all the kids dressed up, I decided to look around the house for a costume for Bindi.  We thought she was adorable, of course.

But we were at a loss for words when a trick-or-treater asked what she was.  We responded "she's fresh from the shower".  They looked at us like we had three heads.  Ha!  Maybe next year, we'll dress her up as something.

I'll be back later in the week showing you the before and afters of our attic and re-capping our Run My Renovation episode.

  1. We also ran out of candy about an hour and a half in. But it was fun chitchatting with all the neighbors and watching all the neighborhood kids trekking the streets in some of the cutest costumes! Oh and I can't wait get home tonight and watch your episode! The Laker game ruled the TV last night. :/

  5. Wow, Bryan's pumpkin is super cute!!! We've still got our pumpkins lit up out there, and they will stay there until they get rotten I suppose.
